The Dateq SPL-6mk2 is a highly sophisticated, multi-band sound pressure level (SPL) limiter designed for professional venues that require strict, legal compliance with noise level regulations while minimizing audible impact on the music quality.
Multiband Limiting with EQ: Features 10-band limiting capabilities. When the level exceeds the maximum limit, the limiter only reduces the specific frequency (or frequencies) that are exceeding the threshold, maintaining the overall sound quality of the music as much as possible.
Correlation Detection: A unique feature that compares the music signal with the measured sound pressure level in the venue. This prevents the audience's cheers or applause from influencing the limiter's behavior, ensuring only the music level is managed.
Comprehensive Data Logging: Records sound pressure data for a period of at least 12 months, including details on power cycles, level exceedances, and attempted sabotage. This data is essential for legal compliance and reporting.
Web-Based Control and Monitoring: No additional software is required. The unit can be accessed, monitored, and adjusted via its internal web page over a network connection (Ethernet or Wi-Fi). Adjustment is protected by a password and installation license.
Flexible Scheduling: The built-in clock allows the user to divide each day of the week into three adjustable time slots, with a separate maximum permissible sound level for each slot.
Precision Measurement: Compliant with the IEC61672-1 standard and includes a DCM-5 Class 2 measurement microphone (optional upgrade to DCM-6 Class 1).
